George 'Leston' Kennedy, 76, Bloomington

George “Leston” Kennedy, 76, Bloomington, went to meet the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.

Born Feb. 21, 1936, in Brown County, he was the son of William Gratton and Beatrice (Deckard) Kennedy.

George was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea.

He was a top salesman for the Ford Motor Company for many years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Linton and many other organizations in Bloomington and surrounding areas.

George is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Kennedy Beal, Linda Rollins, Vicki Castleberry, Kathy Morris, Rita Chestnut and Cheryl Wilber; 14 grandchildren, Tracy, Clayton, Robin, Jarrod, Eric, Emily, Wendel, Micah, Amanda, Sara, Megan, Cody, Kyler and Jolea; and 19 great-grandchildren, one of whom he had a special relationship with, Ashlee Boyce. He is also survived by four sisters, Vella Akers, Martha Nilson, Katrine Miller and Esther Percifield; two sisters-in-law, Martha Kennedy and Evelyn Kennedy; a cousin, MariBelle Webster; and special friends, Joe and Jill Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bill, Clyde and James Robert Kennedy.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. A Masonic service will be conducted by the Linton Lodge No. 560 at 6 p.m. Friday. Visitation also will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at The Funeral Chapel with the funeral at noon. Cody Kennedy will officiate.
