Tijera Ann “T.J.” Waggoner, 59, of North Vernon, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Waggoner was born Aug. 1, 1953, in New Castle, the daughter of Richard Earl and Peggy Sue Miles Laughner. She married Charles Robert “Chuck” Waggoner on April 28, 1974, in Martinsville; he survives.

Mrs. Waggoner was director of Human Services Inc. in Columbus and previously worked for Head Start in both Greensburg and Brown County. She was a 1971 graduate of Greenwood Community High, received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1976 and her master’s degree in 1979. She was a member of Kappa Delta in Bloomington and First Baptist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck” Waggoner of North Vernon; a son, Bradley (Lindsey) Waggoner of Fort Bliss, Texas; three daughters, Tica (Ty) Rogers of Kokomo, Amy Elizabeth Waggoner of Indianapolis and Caris Waggoner of North Vernon; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robbie and Rick Laughner; and a sister, Alice Perrine.

A memorial service was conducted Wednesday Oct. 17 at First Baptist Church in North Vernon, with Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends called before the service Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home & Cremation Services in North Vernon.
