Talton (Holman) Lyman, 69, Indianapolis

Talton (Holman) Lyman, 69, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

Talton was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Pruden, Tenn., to Ernest and Elsie Mae (Maiden) Holman.

She is survived by her children, John (Juanita) Davis of Phoenix, Ariz., Tina (Don) Chadwick of Mooresville and Danny Davis of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Amber Stinson and Justin Davis, both of Indianapolis; and four great-grandchildren.

Talton was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Joshua Davis. 

She was a loving homemaker and a member of the North Liberty Christian Church in Indianapolis. Talton was known as a “prayer warrior” by her family and friends. She was deeply involved in ministering and volunteering to those in prison, homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Talton was a scholar of the Bible and a servant to the Lord. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and talking to those in need through Facebook.

A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Emanuel Baptist Church, 1314 Woodlawn Ave., Indianapolis. Friends can call from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Concord Cemetery in Fountaintown.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
