Ruth Olive (Millard) Kincaid, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 10, 2012, at the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin and former resident of Mulberry, Fla., and Kokomo.

Ruth was born March 30, 1927, in Kalamazoo, Mich. to Howard and Olive Ruth (Moore) Millard. She married Robert Wayne Kincaid Jan. 1, 1947, in Kokomo. He preceded her in death May 14, 2007, after 60 devoted years of marriage.

Ruth was the loving mother to her daughters, Cheryl (Lee) Snider of Morgantown and Carol Ann Thorn of Hendersonville, Tenn. She will be remembered by her two grandchildren, Ryan (Ines) Snider of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Rachel Snider of Trafalgar; and one great-grandson, Avery Gannon Rose.

Ruth was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Millard Jr.

She was a 1945 graduate of Kokomo High School and retired in 1987 as a telephone operator with Indiana Bell Telephone Company after many years of service. Ruth was a member of the Morgantown Baptist Church and a former member of the Scott Lake Baptist Church in Lakewood, Fla. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family and friends. Ruth also enjoyed bowling and playing the piano.

The Rev. Lee Snider will conduct a celebration of life service Friday, Oct. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Franklin Methodist Community Wright Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Friends can call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
