Marianne Ruth (Bessire) Miller, 95, Nashville, passed away Sept. 25, 2012, in Nashville.
She was born July 25, 1917, in Nashville to Dale and Ruth (Sayer) Bessire. She was a graduate of Nashville High School and Indiana University.
Marianne was a homemaker and helped with the family business at Miller’s Drug Store in Nashville. She was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Brown County Historical Society and the Republican Party.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. at Nashville United Methodist Church, 36 S. Jefferson St., Nashville, with Revs. Fred and Peggy Haywood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church Saturday from 1-3 p.m.
Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Anne “Susie” Roush and Marilyn Ruth Rudd, both of Nashville; sons, John Maurice Miller (Marlyn) of Cary, N.C., and Stephen Vance Miller (Anne) of Nashville; grandchildren, Sandy (Dave) Freshour, Greg (Angela) Miller, Sara Jane Miller, Ryan Miller, Kevin (Kristi) Roush, Craig (Tina) Roush, Jill Miller, Jeff Miller, Aaron (Hai) Rudd, and Andrew Rudd; great-grandchildren, Graham (Davida) Freshour, Mara (Jacob) Redmond, Tanner Freshour, Griffin and Rory Miller, Katie, Gracie, & Molly Balcerak, Zachary, Austin, and Elizabeth Roush, Elijah, Adelyn and Ava Roush, Hannah and Noah Weinrich, Maia and Elio Miller;and one great-great-grandson, John Rudd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice "Pods" Miller on July 19, 2001; brothers, Phillip and William Bessire; son-in-law, John Rudd; an infant granddaughter, Margaret Ann Miller; and great-granddaughters, Morgan Ann Freshour and Whitney Leigh Freshour.
