Lucille Waddle, 86, of Columbus passed away at 5:05 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at Silver Oak Health Campus.

Lucille was born on March 5, 1926 in Brown County to the late James and Nora Aynes Hatton. She married William M. Waddle Feb. 10, 1945. He preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1997.

Lucille enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafts and activities at Waynesburg Christian Church. Lucille was a member of New Hope Christian Church and loved spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 11 at New Hope Christian Church with John Sichting and David Burnett officiating.

Family and friends called Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and before the service Tuesday at the church. Burial was to be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to New Hope Christian Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include sons, Ronald (Gwen) Waddle of North Carolina, and Richard (Sandra) Waddle of Columbus; grandchildren, Billy Crosby, Kelsey Hefner, Jamie Crosby, John Waddle, Kelly McMillan, Lori Smithson, Gerry Waddle Jr. and Carri Jo Moose; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Gerry L. Waddle and Teresa E. Crosby; brothers and sisters, Edith Hatton, Dora Hill, Olive Scott, Lecco Bud Hatton, Harold Hatton, Norma Imel, Keith Hatton and five siblings who passed away during childhood.
