Among her first actions as Brown County’s new Emergency Management Agency director, Sara Vasquez-Fox convinced the county commissioners to lift the burn ban that has been in place since June 27.
During their Sept. 5 meeting, the commissioners voted 3-0 to accept Fox’s recommendation. Recent rain was the deciding factor.
Brown County was one of the last counties in the state to lift its burn ban. According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, just five counties still have bans in effect.
