Timothy "TJ" Richards, 53 of Seymour

Timothy "TJ" Richards, 53 of Seymour, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Indianapolis.

TJ was employed at Kamic, and he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, camping and being with family.

The funeral was to be conducted Tuesday a.m., Aug. 21 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus with the Revs. Kenny Lee and Orville Turner officiating.

Family and friends called Monday at the funeral home and before the service Tuesday.

Burial was to be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Timothy Richards memorial fund through the funeral home.

He was born in Columbus on July 7, 1959, the son of Harry O. and Alvina L. Coy Richards.

Survivors include his children, Steven and Michaela Richards, both of Elizabethtown and Laura Richards of Seymour; a brother, Albert Richards of Columbus; sisters, Sharon (Delbert) Lucas of Nashville, Terrie Mathis of Hope, Nina (Tom) Harrison of Columbus and Bonnie Roach of Columbus; his girlfriend, Darlene Bowling of Seymour; 10 grandchildren and his dog, Moses.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Laurel, Ronnie and Robert Richards; and a sister, Cheryl Richards.
