Mae F. Shepherd, 83, of Taylorsville, died at 12:23 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

Mrs. Shepherd retired in 1991 after 14 years of employment at Brown Nursing Home in Edinburgh. She was a member of Neighborhood Church of God in Brown County.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m Thursday, Aug. 23, at Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty, Ky. Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh, and from noon until service time Thursday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be at Whited Cemetery in Liberty, Ky.

Born in Casey County, Ky., April 10, 1929, Mrs. Shepherd was the daughter of Johnny Allen and Parker Meeks Allen.

She is survived by sons, Bobby (Faye) and Wayne (Louise) Shepherd, both of Taylorsville; daughters, Phyllis Kindy of Edinburgh and Linda Shepherd of Taylorsville; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Shepherd; brothers, Howard, Noble and Marvin Allen; an infant brother and an infant sister; a grandson, Bobby Shepherd; and a granddaughter, Wendy Whitlock.
