Danny C. Campbell, 65, Brown County

Danny C. Campbell, 65, passed away unexpectedly Saturday eve, Aug. 18, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was a long-time resident of Nashville and enjoyed wintering in Inverness, Fla.

Danny was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Indianapolis to the late Curtis Wes and Valentina I. (Petro) Campbell. He proudly served with the United States Army as a Private First Class with the HHC 2nd Brigade 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.

Danny retired in 1999 as a machinist with Cummins Engine Company in Columbus after 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, former member of Moose Lodge #398, and member of Diesel Workers Union, all in Columbus. He enjoyed the outdoors - fishing, hunting, boating and camping. Danny also enjoyed mushroom hunting, going out to eat, watching Fox News and TV show “Falling Skies”.

He is survived by his siblings, Mary F. (Ronny) Wagers of Nashville, Tammy E. (Roger) Cravens of North Vernon and Steven M. Campbell of Nashville. He will be remembered by his longtime companion, Marion Andreone of Inverness, Fla.; and best friend, Larry Clemens of Nashville. Danny is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Gerard Cravens of Hernando, Fla,, Kelli Cravens of North Vernon, Ronnie K., Jessica and Heather Wagers, all of Brown County, and Charlotte Wagers of Indianapolis; two great-nephews, Tyler Bailey of Edinburgh and Corbin Wagers of Brown County; and two great-nieces, Megan and Katlin Wagers, both of Brown County.

Danny was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy K. Campbell; a niece, Christine Turner; and a great nephew, Dakota Wagers-Smith.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Goshen Cemetery on Gatesville Road in Nashville, with graveside military rites presented by the Brown County Honor Guard. Friends can call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
