Larry D. Hurst, 67, Connersville, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 2, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Larry was born April 25, 1945, in Connersville to William Jack and Ruth Mary (Hughes) Hurst. He was a 1963 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville in 1968.
Larry worked as a broker in the coal industry in Kentucky and Tennessee. He was a member of Connersville Senior Center. He enjoyed going out to eat, visiting with family and friends and was an avid sports fan. Larry also enjoyed playing cards, pool and bingo, and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Cassidy (Corey) Hurst-Peebles of Navarre, Fla.; one sister, Janice L. Hoskins of Franklin (formerly of Brown County); one brother, William J. Hurst of Connersville; and a granddaughter, Abigail Peebles of Navarre, Fla. Larry will be remembered by his two nieces, Kim (Brian) Brady and Patty (David) Frensemeier, both of Nashville; and three nephews, Timothy Huber of Tell City, J.B. Hurst of Connersville and Bill Hurst of Indianapolis.
A gathering of family and friends will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 11 from 2-4 p.m. at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 500 E. Ninth St. in Connersville.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
