Ida Catherine (Welcher) Irvin, 80, Gosport, went home to be with her Lord Aug. 1, 2012. She was a resident of the Gosport Nursing Home.
Ida was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Bargersville, the daughter of Johnny and Cora (Zimmerman) Welcher.
Ida worked as an LPN. She was a member of Spearsville Pilgrim Holiness Church. She enjoyed crocheting and eating Chinese food.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Sam Alton Irvin of Auburn; her daughters, Barbara (Dwight) Brock of Martinsville and Carolyn (Glen) Maxwell of West Palm Beach, Fla.; stepsons, Jim (Sherry) Irvin of Auburn and Jerry (Renee) Irvin of Fishers; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Richart; and two brothers, Bill and Dean Welcher.
A funeral service was conducted Sunday, Aug. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell funeral Home with burial in Bethel Cemetery. The family received visitors at the funeral home Saturday eve.
The family would like to express gratitude to the Gosport Nursing Home facilities and staff for all the loving care and attention showed Ida during her stay there.
