Katherine Everroad, 89, Columbus

Katherine Everroad, 89, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Born in Bedford, Pa., she was daughter of the late Chester A. and Amy Bender Rininger.

She was a member of Church of the Galilean, Strong Tower Ministries and Global Harvesters Missionary Organization. She was a graduate of Bedford High School and attended Indiana State Teachers College.

Survivors include five sons, Robert (Louise) Knox of Florida, Steve (Starla) Knox of Murphreesboro, Tenn., Alan (Mary) Everroad of Nashville, Mark (Linda) Everroad of North Vernon and John Everroad of Columbus; four daughters, Pamela Ziemer of New Whiteland, Karen (Mark) Hammel of Scipio, Donna (Jon) Kiefer and Debra (Mark) Steinbarger, both of Columbus; a brother, Quentin Rininger of Fishertown, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Maj. Theodore A. Knox; two brothers, Bernard and Theodore Rininger; two sisters, Phyllis Rininger and Lois Brown; a son, Theodore A. Knox; and two granddaughters, Shannon Morris and Katherine Everroad.

A funeral service was conducted Saturday, July 7 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus, with Rev. Mark Hammel officiating. Calling was Friday, July 6 and before the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Bartholomew County.
