Revised plans for a proposed private recreational development near Bean Blossom are now available for viewing.

The Brown County Board of Zoning Appeals is slated to discuss the special exception request from petitioners Michael and Ryan Farabaugh next Wednesday, July 25, at 6 p.m. in the County Office Building.

The Farabaughs originally presented their plan for the nearly 70-acre development this April.  The BZA decided to table the zoning exception request, however, asking for more detailed project information before making a decision.

The original plans for the development off of Gatesville Road included primitive and hookup RV camping spaces, public restroom and shower facilities, an outdoor stage/amphitheatre, a show building, lakes, ATV trails and zip lines. The most recently submitted documents do not feature the ATV trails or zip lines, which could be added in the future if the exception is granted.

In April, the Farabaughs explained that they planned to develop the property over a period of several years and invest as much as $700,000 in the project.

Use included up to 10 events per year, as well as providing overflow camping for the neighboring Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground during their events.
