Students in three different grade levels at two Brown County schools earned 100-percent passing rates on portions of their ISTEP+ tests this spring.
At Helmsburg Elementary, all 29 fourth-graders and all 25 sixth-graders passed the math portion of the test.
At Sprunica Elementary, all 40 third-graders passed both the English/language arts and the math portions of the test.
Passing percentages on both tests schoolwide were above the state average at Van Buren, Helmsburg and Sprunica elementaries and Brown County Junior High School.
Nashville's passing percentage was 66.5 percent; the state average was 71 percent.
ISTEP+ is given each spring to students in the third through eighth grades. It's intended to measure how well students perform and comprehend the skills and content outlined in Indiana's academic standards.
