Barbara A. Wendling Smiar, 77, Nineveh, died at 7:53 p.m., June 27, 2012, at Community Hospital S., Indianapolis.
She was born Dec. 2, 1934, daughter of the late George J. and Cecelia A. (Schmitz) Wendling. She married Nicholas Paul Smiar, who predeceased her Nov. 22, 1997.
Mrs. Smiar was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1952, and a member of Edinburgh Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mrs. Smiar owned and operated R. & S. Realty in the Nineveh area. She enjoyed caring for family and friends, and was excellent at sewing, knitting and baking.
She is survived by 4 sons, Charles (Sharon) of Escondido, Calif., Nicholas Jr. (Helene) of Eau Claire, Wisc., Patrick (Jodi) of Taylorsville, and Scott (Jenny) Willison of Boise, Idaho; 3 daughters, Louise (Jim) Kincade of Valley City, Ohio, Stacy Willison Snider and Laura (Ed) Riha, both of Indianapolis; a sister, Janet Wendling of Bargersville; 24 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sons, Mark, Jeff and Greg Willison.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 2 at Edinburgh Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Rick Nagel officiating. Calling will take place 2-6 p.m., Sunday, July 1 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, Edinburgh.
