The Brown County School Board of Trustees approved the following at their meetings in February and March:

  • A $1,000 donation from Paul Voils to the Brown County High School winter guard program.
  • Maternity leave request for Van Buren Elementary School teacher Alyssa Daffron beginning approximately April 5 through the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year.
  • Superintendent Emily Tracy to attend the AASA School Superintendent’s Conference in Nashville, Tennessee Feb. 17-19.
  • The following teachers to attend the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching national conference in Dallas, Texas March 9-11: Cindy Stark, Mike Taylor, Michelle Joy, Kelli Bruner, Hannah Newlin, Annette Fields, Makenzie Duncan, Michelle Wagers, Sarah Cochran, Paige Burton, Emily Tracy, Kevin Greve, Christy Wrightsman, Kirk Wrightsman, Lauren Spiece, Trent Austin, Alyssa Stanley and Jay Myers. All expenses will be covered by the NIET grant the school district received in 2019.
  • Remove the shuttle portion for Payton Transport, bus 31, from the fleet contract 2019-2023 with Sarah Payton, per her request, effective Jan. 3.
