NOTICE OF ADOPTION

To the taxpayers of Brown County, you are hereby notified that on April 21, 2021, Brown County Commissioners, Brown County, Indiana, pursuant to notice heretofore given, and under and by virtue of Indiana Code 36-9-14.5, duly adopted a plan whereby the property tax rate on the Cumulative Capital Development Fund was reestablished to provide for all uses as set out in Indiana Code 36-9-14.5.

The fund will be provided for by a property tax rate of $.0333 per one hundred dollars ($100) of taxable real and personal property within the taxing unit beginning in 2021 payable 2022 and thereafter, continuing until reduced or rescinded.

Fifty (50) or more taxpayers in the taxing unit who will be affected by the tax rate and corresponding levy may file a petition with the Brown County Auditor not later than noon 30 days after the publication of this Notice setting forth their objections to the proposed cumulative fund. Upon the filing of the petition, the County Auditor shall immediately certify the same to the Department of Local Government Finance, at which point the Department will fix a date for and conduct a public hearing on the proposed cumulative fund before issuing its approval, disapproval, or modification thereof.

Housing Opportunity for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (“IHCDA”) seeks qualified applicants to implement and administer the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (“HOPWA”) program for the 2021 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022.)

The goal of the HOPWA Program is to ensure that affordable housing options and related housing services are available to low income persons with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or related diseases and their families and to assist such persons in achieving and maintaining housing stability, thereby avoiding homelessness and improving their access to and engagement in HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

Applicants that are selected to receive HOPWA funds will be considered sub-recipients and will also be required to comply with the requirements related to “sub-recipients” outlined in the RFQ that can be found here: www.in.gov/ihcda

An interested applicant must submit its application via email to IHCDA no later than the deadline of May 31, 2021 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Faxed and mailed applications will NOT be accepted. Applications received after the deadline will NOT be accepted.

Notice of Public Hearing
Town of Nashville to obtain assistance from the Wastewater State Revolving Fund (WWSRF) Loan Program for Wastewater Improvements and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Loan Program for Water Utility Improvements
The Town of Nashville will hold a public hearing at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Town of Nashville Town Hall located at 200 Commercial Street, Nashville, IN 47448. There is a 10 person capacity limit for the audience (plus two additional seats reserved for media). These meetings require masks and social distancing. The public hearing will also be held virtually, and virtual meeting login information is available through the Town’s website at https://www.townofnashville.org/calendar-of-events?view=calendar&month=05- 2021.
The Town’s engineering consultants, ms consultants, inc. and Curry & Associates, Inc., will present the recommended improvements which include one wastewater improvements project for the Town of Nashville’s wastewater system as well as wastewater and drinking water improvements in support of Brown County State Park in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Wastewater improvements for the Town of Nashville’s system include collection system rehabilitation, new lift station and WWTP improvements. Wastewater improvements in support of Brown County State Park include south and north system sewer rehabilitation and replacement, decommissioning of existing wastewater treatment facility, new master lift station and force main, and replacement of the force main to the Town of Nashville. Drinking Water Improvements in support of Brown County State Park include a booster station, storage tank, water mains to connect to the Town of Nashville and decommissioning of existing water system components. All improvements are described in the Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER) for each project. The projects will be funded through a WWSRF and DWSRF loan funding.
