Home on Ike Shipley Road damaged by fire

Firefighters were out until the early hours the morning of March 18 battling a blaze that damaged a home on Ike Shipley Road.

The first was reported just before 10:30 p.m. March 17 in the 100 block of Ike Shipley Road. Brown County (Nashville) Volunteer Fire Department Chief Nick Kelp said inside of the home was damaged by fire, smoke and water.

It is unknown if the building will be torn down or fixed. One man was living there, but he was in the middle of moving and will be staying at a hotel, Kelp said.

Nashville Fire was assisted by Jackson Township, Fruitdale and Southern Brown volunteer fire departments.

Firefighters were on scene until almost 2 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was injured.
