Peggy Jo (Cox) Snider, age 60, passed away all too soon on Monday, July 27, 2020 at her home in Bloomington. She was a resident of Bloomington, and a former long-time resident of Brown County.
Peggy was born July 17, 1960, in Jeffersonville, to her parents, Noah N. Jr. and Marjorie (Cassidy) Cox. She was a 1978 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to earn an Accounting Degree from Ivy Tech Community College. After high school, Peggy worked as a Manager for Cummins Cafeteria for 13 years. She was also the owner and operator of Hoosier Books, where she purchased and sold books and antiques.
Peggy was an avid book collector and found joy in finding, researching and collecting older books, especially those related to Indiana history. She enjoyed listening to Cox Brother’s music, watching comedies and was a Star Trek enthusiast. Peggy will be remembered most for her great sense of humor, politically outspoken nature and her willingness to help others in need.
Peggy will be missed by her mother, Marjorie Cox of Columbus; children: Sara Snider and Logan Snider both of Bloomington; sister: Pam Cox Smith; brothers: Alan, Tim and Rob Cox and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Noah Cox Jr., nephew Neil Cox and sister-in-law Pam Wininger.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Funeral services were entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and follow the mandate by the State of Indiana, all visitors were required to provide and wear their own face covering and maintain social distancing.
