Matthew Wade Stinson, 35, of Nashville, died unexpectedly in his home Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019.

He was born March 28, 1984, in New Castle to Dennis W. Stinson and Melissa A. Stevens Stinson. He was a local arborist.

Survivors include his parents of Nashville; his two sons, Logan Wade Stinson and Cole Matthew Stinson both at home; a sister, Heather (husband Adam) Ford of Nashville; former wife, Lacey Stinson; paternal grandparents, Arnold “Biggen” and Dean Stinson of Nashville; niece and nephew, Owen and Madison Ford; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Orville R. Stevens Jr. and Barbara Jean Showalter Stevens.

Matt’s greatest enjoyment came from helping others. He also liked spending time with his family, riding four-wheelers with his sons, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, landscaping, and doing handyman work. He was a member of the Indiana Arborists Association.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at a family friend’s farm at 4995 Yellowwood Rd., Nashville.  Funeral Services will be at 5:00 PM also at the farm on Yellowood Rd with Pastors Bruce Bond and Randy LaVere II officiating, burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery.  After services there will be a dinner at Belmont Chapel Trinity Holiness Church, 5579 Lower Schooner Rd.  If friends wanted to make a food donation please bring it to the church on Wednesday afternoon.
