Brown County celebrated its 90th Spring Blossom Parade under clouds and showers May 4, but some May flowers also appeared to match the parade theme, “Brown County Blooms.”

The parade throughout downtown Nashville started in 1929 as a way to welcome spring. A Queen of May was crowned and she led the parade as grand marshal.

This year’s parade grand marshal was Audrey Evans, great-granddaughter of that first Queen of May, “Grandma” Barnes.

The Brown County Lions Club now organizes the parade and awards ribbons to winners, which were:
