Dorothy spent many years supporting her children’s projects, being a Brown County 4-H club leader.
On the rare occasion that Dorothy wasn’t involved civically, she enjoyed spending time with her family, watching The Virginian television series and reading romance books. She also enjoyed acrylic painting.

Dorothy’s greatest passion was to see the Hickory Ridge Senior Center thrive and grow. She planned many events for local seniors to enjoy and to raise funds to keep the center open for others. Many will remember Dorothy from learning to quilt at her quilt shop in Morgantown for 15 years.
Dorothy and her late husband, Morris, enjoyed gold prospecting in their early years and operated the Gold Prospector Shop in Nashville for several years.
