To the editor:

BETA (Brown County Enrichment for Teens Association) would like to sincerely thank the following individuals and organizations for its recent and successful move and many great donations it has received.

First, we are so proud to thank our amazing BETA teens who worked so hard on the day of our move on Oct. 30. We also wish to recognize our BETA junior counselors Clifford Russell, John Callahan and Matt Roberts for their outstanding support and leadership in working with BETA teens.

We also would like to thank many adult volunteers who helped greatly for the moving process including Pastor Kenneth Alip from the Salvation Army, Pam Boer, Connie Casey, Brenda Krieger, Carri Spires and Shannon Harris and Richard Stanley, Jr.

BETA is also deeply thankful to our generous landlord Brown County Art Guild, its board and new executive director Andra Walters for generously extending the moving period for a smoother transition for BETA’s move. Also, BETA would like to express our genuine gratitude for the beautiful piano donated by Peg and Mark Lindenlaub to the new BETA Center and for them bearing the costs of delivery and tuning of the piano.

BETA also gratefully recognizes a generous donation of $5,000 from the August Fund through the Brown County Community Foundation, the new BCCF CEO Maddison Miller for her great help and a $650 donation by the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women from their 2018 Fall Fare event.

BETA also would like to thank Deborah Bartes, David and Catherine Martin, Connie Pockevich, Larry Hanson, Wanda Jones, Brown County Commissioners, David and Janis Shaffer and Linda James for their generous donations.

BETA also would like to recognize Shari Frank, Gene Elias and Seung Han Foundation (from South Korea) for privately funding the tutoring programs at both junior high and high schools for this school year.

BETA also would like to thank Brown County Community Foundation for its $3,800 grants and contribution by Annie Hawk that are funding five free music lessons provided by After School Arts Committee (ASAC) and their top-quality music teachers.

BETA also would like to express a special thanks, on behalf of Kids on Wheels (KOW), to the five restaurants and their owners for Dine’N Donate event as its last fundraiser this fall: Justin Loveless for Chocolate Moose, Ryan Seward for Brozinni Pizzeria, Michelle Kritzer for Casa Del Sol, Kathleen and David Chilcote for Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Rolls and John and Ginger Knight for Johnny’s Grub to Go.

BETA is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization that provides an after-school program to local teens on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6:30 pm at the new BETA Center located at 175 South Jefferson Street across the street from the Salvation Army.

BETA has been made possible thanks to our wonderful community who cares about our youth and their better future supported by a nurturing environment and high-quality enrichment programs.

Please support our important mission by sending your donation to BETA, P. O. Box 1194, Nashville, IN 47448. Also visit BETA’s Facebook/betateencenter to like us and follow the updates.
