NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE BROWN COUNTY AREA COUNTY PLAN COMMISSION

Please take notice that the Brown County Area Plan Commission has scheduled a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, June 26,2018, at 6:00 PM in the Meeting Room, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville, Indiana 47448.

The purpose of the hearing shall be to accept public comment on proposed amendments (“Amendments”) to the lot size and lot width provisions of Section 4.4 of the Brown County Zoning Ordinance and on a proposed amendment to the definition of the term “subdivision” as set forth in Section 10 of the Brown County Subdivision Control Ordinance. If adopted: the lot size Amendments would reduce the minimum single-family and two-family residential lot size in the FR District from 5 acres to 3 acres for lots using individual sewage disposal systems; the lot width Amendments would reduce the minimum single-family and two-family lot width standards for lots within the FR District from 300 feet to 100 feet; and, the subdivision definition Amendment would add an exclusion for divisions of property resulting in lots of at least 3 acres with at least 100 feet to 150 feet of public road frontage, depending on the arrangement of the lots with respect to the public road.

Copies of the Amendments are available for inspection in the Brown County Area Planning Office, Brown County Government Building, 201 Locust Lane, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Written comments to the Amendments, which are filed with the Secretary of the Area Plan Commission before the hearing, will be considered. Oral comments concerning the proposed amendments will be heard. The hearing may be continued from time to time. Following the hearing, the Brown County Plan Commission may take final action on the Amendments and on any proposed changes to the Amendments. The hearing is open to the public.
