A driver who crashed into a pole on State Road 46 West on March 7 may have had a seizure, a witness told police.

Nashville Police Chief Ben Seastrom reported that the driver, Ryan D. Daniel, 46, of Navarre, Florida, hit the pole near Green Valley Road just after 9 a.m. Daniel would not comply with directions from EMS personnel on the scene and was confused, the report said.

A medical helicopter was called to take Daniel to the hospital. The police report did not list his injuries. The helicopter was later called off because Daniel was being combative, the report said.

Daniel’s vehicle was towed. He was wearing a seat belt and the airbag did deploy, the report said.
