A Columbus man faces a felony in Brown County after police say he drove while intoxicated twice in five years.

Brett B. Bradley, 33, was stopped by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner before 8 p.m. March 4 in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Magner stopped Bradley for driving his vehicle in a manner that endangered a person, according to the affidavit.

During the stop, Magner reported smelling alcohol on Bradley, that his speech was slurred, his eyes were glossy, that he swayed during the horizontal gaze test and leaned on his door as he exited the truck.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.178, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. A chemical test administered at the jail less than 30 minutes after the stop showed a BAC of 0.199.

He was charged March 5 with four misdemeanors for driving while intoxicated. One misdemeanor was elevated to a Level 6 felony because Bradley had previously been convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person in Hamilton County in 2014.
