PITTSBURGH — Authorities say a man working on a vehicle at an auto shop was killed when it apparently fell on top of him.

The death of 39-year-old Pittsburgh resident Paul Tedesco has been ruled an accident from asphyxia.

Police responded to the Pittsburgh business around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday after an employee found Tedesco pinned under the vehicle. They say it appears a support jack collapsed while he was working under the car.

Tedesco did not work at the business. It wasn’t immediately clear when the accident occurred or why Tedesco was in the business.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
