Barbara H. (Gregory) Mowery, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at Bell Trace Health & Living in Bloomington. She was a resident of Nashville.
Barbara was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late Albert H. and Myrtle H. (Gammon) Gregory. She was a 1958 graduate of George Washington High School and later married Carl D. Mowery on Aug. 12, 1966 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2015 after 48 loving years of marriage.
Barbara worked at IBM in Indianapolis as a key punch operator from 1964 to 1971. She was a loving wife and mother to her six children. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Fruitdale Fire Department, fishing with her husband and watching her favorite television shows: Young & the Restless and Dancing with the Stars. Barbara was known to have a green thumb and could grow beautiful African violets and roses. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her salmon patties, fried potatoes and pork & beans dinner. Barbara also loved flowers, feeding the hummingbirds and spending time with her family.
She will be missed by her children, Mark Mowery and Dane “Bo” (Lisa) Mowery, both of Nashville, the Rev. Robert (April) Pugh of Indianapolis, Stanley (Merri) Pugh of Hillisburg and Allen (Betty) Pugh of Indianapolis; siblings, Dwaine (Becky) Gregory of Spencer, Jerald Gregory of Coatsville, Deborah (Dale) Cochran of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Ron D. Mowery; and siblings, Joyce Mowery and Billie Joe Gregory.

The Rev. Robert Pugh will conduct a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at Garfield Park Baptist Church, 1061 E. Southern Ave., Indianapolis.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
