A woman involved at a crash at CVS on Feb. 10 has been charged as an intoxicated driver.

Monica Hurley, 34, of North Vernon, failed all three field tests at the scene, and a portable breath test showed her blood-alcohol content to be 0.168 — more than twice the legal limit for a driver, according to a police report.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht responded to the crash at about 11:30 p.m.

He wrote that Hurley admitted to being the driver, and she smelled of alcohol, her speech was slow, eyes were bloodshot and her balance was unsteady. Results of a chemical test were pending at the time formal charges were filed.

She was charged Feb. 12 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person, operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.15 or more, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, all misdemeanors.
