VAN BUREN TWP. — A crash on Poplar Grove Road last weekend involved a drunken driver, police said.

Rosalie Korniak, 29, of Columbus, was charged Jan. 22 with three alcohol-related misdemeanors. She was the driver of a Ford Escape that crashed in the 6400 block of Poplar Grove Road just after midnight Jan. 21, police said.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner wrote that Korniak smelled of alcohol, her speech was slurred, her eyes were glossy and manual dexterity and balance were poor. A chemical test more than an hour later showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.217, more than twice the legal limit for a driver, his report said.

Korniak was previously convicted of drunken driving in July 2012 in Lawrence County, the report said.
