State Road 46 West was closed at Kelley/Schooner Hill for more than two hours this morning because of icy road conditions.

Traffic started backing up before 8 a.m. on the highway between Nashville and Bloomington. Around 8:30, officers decided to close the highway to through traffic at Nashville, according to police radio dispatches.

The highway reopened at about 9:30 a.m. once state highway trucks were able get to the area and treat the roads.

Brown County Schools had been put on a two-hour delay at 4:45 a.m., but that changed to a closure at 7:15 a.m. Superintendent Laura Hammack cited icy, untreated roads as the reason.
