To the editor:

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office had their first Shop With a Cop on Saturday, Dec. 16. We would like to thank those who helped make it possible for 21 Brown County children to have a special Christmas holiday experience.

We were only able to do this because of our community’s generous support by giving donations and time to the program. Many thanks to those who contributed: Earl L. Brown, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89, Dr. and Mrs. Steven Junken, Wright’s Auto, Stony Lonesome Motorcycle Club, Gnawbone Coffee, West Side Walmart in Columbus, Brown County sheriff’s deputies, Indiana Conservation Officers, Brown County sheriff’s dispatchers, Brown County sheriff’s jail officers, Brown County sheriff’s TRIAD officers, Charlie DeWeese and the Clifford Fire Department.

Shop With Cop is a very rewarding event for the officers as well as the children and their families.
