Monell Ray (Meador) Law, age 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 17, 2018 at her home in Morgantown.

The Revs. James Brown and Ken Smith will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Brown County Community Church, 2370 W. Main St. in Helmsburg.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at the church.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

She was born March 6, 1936, in Allen County, Kentucky, to her parents, the late Murl Ray and Elia Bell (Heath) Meador.
Monell was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jackie D. Law, whom she married on March 6, 1954 in Georgia.

Monell is also survived by her children, Julie A. (Phillip) Richards and Glen A. (Diana) Law, both of Morgantown, Tim L. (Carolyn) Law of Worthington and D. Lane (Jodie) Law of Morgantown; sister, Betty (Talmage) Law of Trafalgar; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Monell was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Miranda Law.

She attended Bean Blossom Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church in Trafalgar.

Monell will be remembered for her southern cooking and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
