DOVER, Del. — A man has been charged with possessing and setting illegal animal traps in Delaware.
The News Journal in Wilmington reported Friday that 54-year-old David Goley set the traps in Dover.
Goley has already pleaded guilty and paid $234 in fines. He also forfeited an illegal body-gripping trap that has a jaw spread in excess of five inches.
The state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said Goley violated multiple trapping and state wildlife laws. Besides possessing the body-gripping trap, they include setting an illegal leg-hold trap, illegally trapping in the Tappahanna Wildlife Area and setting improperly tagged traps.
