To the editor:

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming to my 90th surprise birthday celebration at Creekside Retreat on Dec. 10.

It was so very nice to see each of you, coworkers from years ago and many longtime and community friends.

Also appreciated are the many, many calls and well wishes received throughout that week.

It was and is truly one of the highlights of my life. I am humbled by the experience.
