A Brown County teen sustained minor injuries over the weekend when he drove over a patch of ice and lost control of his truck on Helmsburg Road.

Logan B. Miller, 18, of Oak Grove Road, told police he was driving south near McLary Road on Dec. 9 at around 3:50 p.m. when he hit ice, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Williams states.

His 1998 Chevy pickup went off of the southeast side of the road and struck a mailbox on the driver’s side before striking a tree, the report states.

Miller had minor bleeding on his head and left hand. He was treated at the scene.

The truck was towed. Miller was wearing a seat belt.

Police and emergency personnel were out all day and into the evening on Dec. 9 after the first snowfall of the season, responding to 15 other property-damage crashes and seven slide-off reports throughout the county, according to the dispatch report.
