A California woman was not seriously injured after the truck she was riding in crashed into a tree on Greasy Creek Road Dec. 2.

The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. When Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Jackson arrived, he reported finding the driver of the vehicle, Jason C. Rinehart, 35, of Three Story Hill Road, outside, standing next to passenger Megan P. Saake, 22, of Danville, California. Saake was sitting on the ground.

Rinehart told Jackson that he was driving north and did not see the curve in the road until “the last second” when it was too late. He ran into a tree at the edge of the road.

The impact caused both air bags to go off, Jackson reported.

Saake told Jackson she had some pain in her abdomen. Ambulance personnel checked her out at the scene. Saake said she would be fine and that she did not need further treatment, the report states.

The truck was towed. Both Rinehart and Saake said they were wearing seat belts.
