NORWALK, Conn. — A Connecticut woman has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run that left a 65-year-old Norwalk pedestrian dead.

Police allege 51-year-old Darlene Moody was driving under the influence when she hit Archie Hilliard in Norwalk in September.

Hilliard was taken to Norwalk Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police say Moody left the scene but was later found nearby. They say cocaine and alcohol were present in the woman’s blood at the time of the crash.

Moody turned herself in Sunday on charges that include second-degree manslaughter and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. It wasn’t immediately clear if she has an attorney.
