The Nashville Town Council will appoint people to several boards and commissions at its Dec. 21 meeting.

Anyone wishing to serve on a board will need to turn in a form to Town Hall by Friday, Dec. 15. Expression of interest forms are available at Town Hall or on the town’s website, townofnashville.org.

Some boards have an in-town residency requirement, but not all of them do. Most appointees do not receive pay. Contact Town Hall with questions.

Anyone currently serving on a board needs to contact a council member to let them know they’d like to continue, said President “Buzz” King. He recommended that the council also consider those people’s attendance when deciding whether or not to reappoint them.

The town council appoints non-council members to serve on the following: Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Animal Control Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Nashville Arts & Entertainment Commission, Nashville Parking and Public Facilities Development Corporation, Nashville Redevelopment Commission, Nashville Development Review Commission, Nashville Tree Board and Nashville Metropolitan Police Merit Commission.
