School board to loan art piece to gallery for statewide tour

A piece of art that hangs in the conference room at the Brown County Schools administrative building will go on a statewide tour in 2020.

The Brown County School Board of Trustees voted Nov. 16 to loan the painting “Winters End” by C. Curry Bohm to the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation board for a statewide tour of museums.

Superintendent Laura Hammack said she was approached by the art gallery foundation board about loaning the piece and that the opportunity was “very special” for the school district.

“I think it’s really neat we would have a piece that is ours traveling the state for a year. It’s such a beautiful piece and really one we’re quite honored to have as our own,” she said.
