A traffic stop Nov. 7 resulted in an Indianapolis man being charged with possessing a syringe and paraphernalia.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped a vehicle that Jeramy R. Beckham, 29, was riding in for an “equipment violation.”

Eggebrecht searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana and reported finding a syringe in Beckham’s possession. He also reported finding the bottom section of a can containing suspected drug residue on one side and burn marks on the other side, a probable cause affidavit states.

Eggebrecht reported the residue on the can tested positive for heroin.

Beckham was charged Nov. 8 with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
