Teen passengers face drug, alcohol charges

A Louisville teen faces a misdemeanor in Brown County after police reported finding marijuana in her possession during a traffic stop.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped a vehicle Aug. 26 that Sydney N. Williams, 18, was riding in. He reported finding less than 30 grams of marijuana, and she was charged with a Class B misdemeanor on Sept. 29.

Eggebrecht also conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 26 in which 18-year-old passenger Antonio L. Gaddie, of Charlestown, Indiana, was charged with illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

Eggebrecht reported that Gaddie had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance and smelled of alcohol. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.11.

It is unclear if Gaddie and Williams were in the same vehicle. That was not noted in either affidavit, nor was the cause of the traffic stops.
