CLAYMONT, Del. — Authorities in Delaware are searching for a 31-year-old woman identified as the suspect in a carjacking earlier this month that involved a young child.

Master Cpl. Michael Austin, a Delaware State Police spokesman, tells The News Journal warrants for Amy D. Davis’ arrest are on file. State police say she’s suspected of stealing a car from a Claymont Wawa with a 6-year-old boy inside.

The incident took place Oct. 18. Police say a woman parked her vehicle outside the store, leaving the keys in the ignition and her son in the car.

The suspect got into the vehicle and drove away. The boy noticed the woman wasn’t his mother and exited the car. He wasn’t harmed.

Austin says the stolen car has been located.
