Two Pennsylvania men face misdemeanors in Brown County after they were stopped in Nashville for driving in the wrong lane.

Nashville Police Officer Richard King pulled over Michael A. Stanley, 24, after King saw them driving west in the eastbound lane on State Road 46 East near the law enforcement center on Oct. 8, a probable cause affidavit states.

Stanley told King he thought the road was a two-lane road. While King was telling Stanley and his passenger, Jonathan T. Braswell, 22, that he was issuing them a warning for improper lane usage, he noticed remnants of a green leafy substance on Stanley’s right leg, the report said.

When asked if there was marijuana in the car, Stanley said there was a grinder in the cup holder. In the car, King reported that he and assisting officers found a grinder with marijuana residue inside; a grape soda can with a lid that had marijuana residue inside; a small bowl with marijuana residue; a backpack containing several pieces of paraphernalia, marijuana inside an Altoids container, a pill container and a bong, the affidavit states.

Sgt. Bill Southerland with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department reported finding a pipe with a green, leafy substance on the ground next to the vehicle.

Both men were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia on Oct. 11.
