Minor injuries were reported after two cars crashed into each other near the Brown County State Park entrance on State Road 46 East.

The crash occurred at around noon Thursday, Sept. 21.

An accident report by Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams says that Dakota H. Shepherd, 27, of Kokomo, was westbound on 46 East and attempting to turn left into the north park entrance when the rear passenger side of his vehicle was struck by Michael S. Lucas, 65, of Franklin.

Lucas was eastbound on 46 East. He had crossed over the eastbound lane to turn into the park, the accident report states.

Melanie A. Bowen, 36, of Danville, Kentucky, was in her vehicle at the intersection at the time of the crash and was struck in the face with glass from the collision, the report states.

Bowen and Lucas were both treated at the scene and released. Lucas had a complaint of chest pain, according to the report.

Both vehicles were towed and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
