To the editor:

Kids on Wheels would like to thank the following organizations and individuals for their great help and support for the cookout event on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the IGA parking lot and the Nashville police station. The event was successful with many participation of volunteers and customers.

Kids on Wheels would like to greatly thank the IGA and Nashville Police Department for their great partnership for this event by allowing the space for drive-through and kitchen/dining usage.

We would like to also specially thank the Karen, Brad and Grace Howard family for cooking over 100 pounds of pork and baking 400 cookies, and the following adults for event help: Colleen and Scott Smith, Karen Howard, Rachel Thompson from The Salvation Army, Sr. Susan Hooks from St. Agnes Catholic Church, Luke and Andrew Tilton, Karen Scott, Dustie Condon and Jimmy Oliver.

We are also very proud of many Kids on Wheels teens for their great participation including the Sept. 27 KOW Youth gathering: Isaiah and Elijah Smith, Emma Snyder, Graham Brester, Dzango “Chris” Nickles, Grace Howard, Ricky and Caelan Stanley, Clifford Russell, Zara Spires, McKenzie Reynolds and John Callahan.

Kids on Wheels will hold its next amazing event, a hot air balloon ride, on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the high school football practice field staring at 5 p.m. with admission fees of $30 for adults, $20 for teens (13-18) and $15 for children (12 and under). Please come and join our fun and wonderful fundraiser event to move this project forward to build a skate and teen park for our teens and children in Brown County.
