WEBSTER, N.Y. — Two former employees of a company that operates group homes for people with disabilities have been charged in the death of a client residing at a western New York home earlier this year.

Authorities in Rochester say 25-year-old Sarah DiLallo and 60-year-old Sandra Abdo were charged Thursday with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of the elderly or incompetent. They both pleaded not guilty in Monroe County Court.

Officials say the two women were working at a group home in the Rochester suburb of Webster last June when 35-year-old resident Heather Roselli had to be taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. She later died at the hospital.

Prosecutors say Roselli, who had learning disabilities and other issues, was slammed to the ground and suffered fatal internal injuries.
