ATLANTA — Atlanta police say a shooting victim who walked into a fire station is recovering.

Police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown told The Atlanta-Journal Constitution that a man who was shot Tuesday night is in stable condition.

The 43-year-old walked several blocks to the fire station after being shot around 8:15 p.m. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The man’s name and further details were not released.
