Man charged with possessing syringe

HAMBLEN TWP. — An Indianapolis man was arrested in Brown County on a warrant after police found him walking on the side of the road in Hamblen Township.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Jackson reported seeing a man walking north on Sweetwater Trail near a church Sept. 15. He asked for another deputy to check him out, a probable cause affidavit states.

Deputy Austin Schonfeld stopped Eric A. Wilson, 43, in the 8600 block. He told Schonfeld he was walking to Peoga from a home on Hicks Road, the affidavit states.

When asked for his identification, Wilson told the officer he had a warrant out of Brown County and that he had a syringe with him.

Wilson also told Schonfeld he had canisters in his pocket that he keeps methamphetamine in, but that the canisters were empty.

Wilson was transported to the jail. He was charged Sept. 18 with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony.
